no fear, one should reach that pedestal of one's consciousness where one accepts everything that life brings forth. Life is immense. Each moment it comes with a thousand and one gifts. But we are so engaged, preoccupied, with our desiring mind, so full of thoughts that we refuse all these gifts. God comes; one goes on refusing. A man becomes a integral the moment he/she accepts with gratitude all that life brings.
The story of Rengitsu, a zen monk brings this aspect. Once she was on a pilgrimage and came to a village at sunset and begged for lodging for the night. But the villagers slammed their doors and threw her out of the village.
It was a cold night, and the old woman was hungry and with no lodging. She had to make a cherry tree in the fields her shelter. It was really cold, and she could not sleep well. It was dangerous too as it was infested with wild animals. At midnight she awoke and felt very cold. She looked at the spring night sky and saw the fully opened cherry blossoms laughing at the misty moon. Overcome with the beauty, she got up and made reverence in the direction of the village and wrote:
Through their kindness
in refusing me lodging
I found myself
Beneath the blossoms
on the night of this misty moon.
With great gratitude she thanked those people who had refused her lodging. Otherwise she would have been sleeping under an ordinary roof and would have missed the blessing – the cherry blossoms, and the whispering with the misty moon, the silence of the night, the utter silence of the night.

For most people nowadays, the greatest fear of all would be death. My reasoning for this is because more and more people are trying their best to induldge themselves in the worldly live.
People now are trying to do their best to 'cheat' death--to live longer--even to the extend of cyrogenics--all due to their love toward this life.
People may say that they are not affraid about death because they are yet to experience it. Death is one process that everyone has to endure. Death is the greatest sadness, but what is worst is to forget or ignore that death will eventually come, even when a person is living in the strongest and most sophisticated fortress.

Nelson Mandela once said "Our deepest fear is not to fail but that we might be truly successful" and I believe that statement.
If we look back in 10 years time I suspect that we will be more disappointed, about what we failed to attempt, than what we attempted and failed...
