Cattle= calf (the baby guy), heifer (virginal female), cow (the mommy), bull, steer(castrated)
Sheep= lamb (the baby), ewe, ram or buck, dinmont or whether(castrated)
Horse= foal ( the baby), colt (male youngun), filly (female youngun), mare or dam (the mom), stallion or stud (the dad), gelding (castrated) glue pot (as in the old gray mare)
Cattle is the general term for a lot of bovines (or cows). They come in herds. Sheep come in flocks or drifts. Horses come in strings.
