I think you mean "Norton"
I like Anti-Vir. It's free. It got good reviews from PC magazine.

The following are all free & well respected. You can either buy a PC mag & get them from the DVD or download via www.download.com.
AVG Free edition - Anti virus
Zone Alarm - Firewall
Ad-Aware - Anti Spyware
Spybot S&D - ditto
Free file Shredder - totally destroys files rather than deletes

NOD32, without a doubt
http://www.eset.com/
i've used Avast in the past, and whilst free and good at protecting your PC, it is painfully slow.
You don't even notice NOD is there, apart from the update notifications which happen much sooner than any other AV i've used.

Is that northern or norton????
Symantec antivirus corporate edition is really good for normal pc users, its not free of cost, but really hassle free and consumes less resources

AVG
You can also get a free version of this that works great!
Don't forget to get a firewall, a free one can be found at zone alarms.
Hope this helps?
