Since hurricane Katrina last year, we heard how the government failed people. How the response was to slow. Tonight cbs evening news even ran a story about how amazing it was a person was picking up the pieces without waiting for government to hold her hand, I wanted to drive my head through the wall. Katrina was by far not the first hurricane, not the last natural disaster that has occurred. Shoot Mississippi was hit by this storm too, but when they just asked for help, not being propped up by the government the way the residents of New Orleans has.

Being a Christian, God expects us to be ready for what occurs in life. This country was founded on self-reliance, not dependency. If we allow ourselves to be dependent to the government we become government's property, something our forefathers, and troops have fought against since 1775. This is part of what makes this country superior to other nations.

So, if we are going to be good citizens what should we do? First come out with 'garbage hitting the fan plan.' Yes! I live in a remote area. There are critters here that can kill you so yes it is necessary. Yesterday morning when I went to get the morning paper around dawn a wild boar was out by the road in the bushes, as I approached I smelled him and he snorted so I waited a while for my paper! If I had , had my gun I would have chops in the freezer now! There are also gators, bears, snakes , foxes.

Not necessary because if you rape a woman or kill someone you get killed. If you steal something and it's your third offense you get your hand chopped off. No reason to lock your doors in Saudi or have weapons in the house. Pefectly safe there. They even have bars on the windows of houses and buildings to keep would be thieves out.

my life has been saved TWICE because i had a gun, people should be carefull around children, are anyone for that matter,with any weapon. I knew a guy when I was young who accidentaly killed his friend.. if people know you have a gun they will pick another home are person to rob,a good dawg is allmost as better a protection then a gun,ya'll

Yes, we do. It is my right as a US citizen under the constitution to own a gun. We have guns for the purpose of hunting and sport shooting.

I do not for three reasons.

1- The cops are there to protect me. I do not need to worry about carrying a gun or having one in my house because protecting me is the job of highly trained professionals.

2- There are no more indians looking to scalp me or foreign soldiers posed on the borders to invade my country. If there were, maybe I would buy that whole militia thing, but not anymore.

3- guns kill people. You are lots more likely to hurt yourself than you are to protect yourself. If you just give the robber the cash or don't resist the rapist, you'll get out fine.

In China, it's forbidden to have gun at home.But different area has different situation.Gun is to protect you and your family but not to hurt others. I hope it never be used.

Yes. My husband is in Law Enforcement. I personally don't like them. They are always locked in a safe when they are in the house.
