I might meet a few people from here, but not from myspace, simply because the people I connect with on myspace are all friends from 'real life' who now live in different places, therefore I've already met them.

I have met plenty people off the net but i talked to them for a while and i've never had any bad experiences with them...Always meet in a public place or with friends and always let someone know about the person. Im engaged now to someone i met on the internet 3 years ago...You just have to be veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy careful about who you talk to.

I am 42 yo and have been online since 1998. I met and dated a few great men from online :) I met someone really special in 2000 and we have been happily married since 2004 :) Meeting people this way isn't much different than "real life", you still have to be careful, trust your instincts, and start slow, moving from the PC to the phone, etc. When chatting with someone from online, getting to know them from the inside out is the BEST! My advice is to always meet within 30 days!

I have in the past. But you absolutely be careful about it. I was over 25 the first time I did it. It was somebody I had chatted with for a while. Then phoned for a while. The internet is a wonderful thing and you can do basic id validation for free to make sure you are meeting who they say you are meeting. However, if you are under-age, unsure, required to travel long distances, asked to meet in private, solicited for anything illegal, asked to do anything you feel uncomfortable with, do NOT do it.

I believe that you would need to be careful, as stated before. I personally believe this is one of the best ways to meet someone. First, you don't have to show them your picture, so then they fall in love with YOU.
Second, you don't see their picture, so you fall in love with THEM.
Third, through the Internet, depending on how much time you have, is some people's way of communicating. Maybe a person is scared to talk on the phone.
But in all, I think that it gives you a better idea of who a person is. If they are serious about meeting up (in the long run, of course) they won't lie to you. Keep talking for years...if need be. :)

if they looked like you, no doubt, I have met people through personal ads, and phone ads, so why not off the net. I wish I could meet someone, anyone!!!

It should be a slow process of emails, then phone conversations, and then meeting in a public place. Ask a lot of questions, and be very careful.

I've made friiends on the internet that I have later met, but as for a potential love interest, no. It's too dangerous these days.
