Individually we all strive for it, and many attain what they interpret as Utopia,,,sometimes with pitfalls.

Our society is full of racism, fanaticism, hatred, crime, and terrorism. We have priests molesting children, teachers having sex with students, students shooting their classmates, teenage mothers throwing their babies in dumpsters, husbands cheating on their wives, wives cheating on their husbands,...
Isn't that just Utopian ?

It is if you compare it to society as recent as100 years ago.
Our civil rights are protected by law, including freedom from arbitrary arrest, freedom to worship our own gods, freedom to own our own property, freedom to decide how to live our lives.
These freedoms were not always automatically guaranteed.
The only thing we as humans need to overcome now is world proverty and environmental degradation.
