Ouch, you do not call him again. I bet he gave you that number to wipe it all in your face. I think you should not have anything to do with him and leave him alone. If he does stupid things like that, you do not need to deal with it.

Well.... how long he has been your ex. is kind of important. If he is a very recent ex. that you may not have know what was going on, then he's a real jerk for letting you know in this way. If he's been an ex for awhile, then he may just be trying to remain friends and keep things civil. Old exes. really see no harm in something like this, they assume that you have moved on also.

I think it means he's moved on. If you were living with a guy, wouldn't you want your name on the answering machine, too?

Is he supposed to conceal the fact that he's not going to pine away for you in solitude for the rest of his life? Are you saying you're offended that he thought you were mature enough to handle the fact that he'd date other people after you two broke up, and that maybe he still cared enough about you that he'd want to stay in contact?

I think it is a good thing that he is an X. Move on, and forget this dude ever existed. If you happen to run into him, be civil, but in a hurry to get away from him.

It means that he has moved on and wants to be friends and nothing else. Why not leave a message saying hello to both of them.

I'd think that he wants to be my friend......unless he was making some verbal implications of booty call while giving me his number in which case I would think that he's hoping that I'll help him spice up things at home
