That question is designed to get you to talk. Most people are reticent in interviews and leave the interviewer asking all the questions. You'll get nowhere if that's how it goes down. When you talk about yourself, you'll let it flow naturally. People love to talk about themselves. Who knows you better? It also makes you feel comfortable in a stressful situation. When asked that question, don't say "I'm 38, went to X school, majored in X," et cetera because that info is on your application. Tell them where you want to go with this company. Ask them if this company has a strategy for future growth and how do I fit into it. You want to make them interested in you and ask you to come to work with them, not the other way around. My strategy is to interview the company, not have them interview me. I want to know if this outfit fits into MY plans, not if I fit theirs. The Bush economy has created so many jobs that if you don't get/choose this one, there is always another one just around the corner.

Action speaks louder than voice, so the best way to find out is to engage me.
