It's not easy to tell. There were always assasinations, and with the development of education more and more people became aware of politics. In the beginning of the 20th century many leaders were killed by anarchists. This is one antecedent. The average individual has no other way to express his/her discontent (unfair trade, politics... etc.).
As for the U. S. A., the rise of modern terrorism started with the Cold War. The two super powers avoided direct conflicts; they preferred having others do the dirty jobs. Actually, it is their fault that violent groups without any morals appeared. It is well known that Osama got CIA traiing to fight in Afghanistan against the Soviets.
America is only the target because she symbolises the rich West, who oppress poor countries. Luckily for them, she is more or less safe thanks to the geographical position. Europe is more likely to be attacked in the next years.
What is sad is that they didn't learn and keep on supporting militants in Asia and Africa. I'm afraid we'll have many other 9/11s for a long time.

Becos America wants 2 convert all 2 christianity. The islamic countries were silent though Uncle Sam n his allies exploiting them in other parts n areas but whn they started the conversions the islam extremists turned into terrorists n now america is paying the price.

OK,Silouz, truth it is.
The American government-military-industrial complex acts as if it has a right to control everyone everywhere.
People resent being treated as if they have neither the right nor the intelligence to choose their own way of life. Think about it. Do you like to be pushed around by people who think they know what is best for you? Of course not! You hated it as a child and even more as an adult.
America pushed and pushed and now they're being pushed back.
Nobody will put up with being bullied forever.

They are attacking America because they want to show their power by taking the powerful nation for a ride. This is a way of telling the world that it is they who matter.Look and reflect which community/religion/group is most intolerant and you will understand what the real malaise is.Any self-indulgent group that think itself abvove all other religions is a veritable curse on the society, on the world.

C if somebody enters your house and tells you what i m saying is right whatever you have done so far is bull ****. how would you feel?
opinion is like ******* everybody has one. keep it with you unless until somebody asks you to give. friendly help and interference in internal matters are two different stories. America tended to be the master of everybody so in turn everybody is not always happy with the master. some rebels are always there. America is ruining its image. furthermore it is having dual approach on a single issue. the people of America should protest against it. your army people are dyeing in other countries for just earn domination for the president. their families are suffering without any reason. i used some hard words sorry for that but someday America will throw every nation of the world in to world war like Germany did earlier.

Firstly they want to rule the world
Seondly their arms & ammunitions production is too high and it has to be used up. So they first supply them to one country to use it for other country then these americans called them terrorist countries like they made osama and pakistan a terrorist country by supplying them arms & ammunitions. Now they are after US's life
