Have you had an exam/pap lately? That is the first thing you should do to rule out any health problems, including endometriosis. If all is fine, taking the pill usually decreases bleeding and regulates your period. For stomach pain, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) may be helpful. Also, exercise, such as light walking usually helps to alleviate cramps. When you are lying down, putting a hot water bottle or heating pad tends to help.

Become a man. Then you can have bar fights and have excessive bleeding and stomach aches. But at least, then you'll know what the cure is.

Been there dealt with that.....go to your OBGYN and get on birth control. Not for birth control, but for a period that only last 3 days, no cramping, and no excessive bleeding anymore! I am so glad that I did.

Hi there..!

The word "excessive" is only a "relative" terminology..!
If I had been in your position..I would have asked the expert opinion from an expert gynaecologist, as this could be due to umpteen number of causes starting from "age factor" , "infections of the endometrium" ...etc etc.. ...
Best wishes..

actually if we have periods i guess there are only 2-3 tablespoon of real blood that is loss( ask your OB doctor about it,he/she can xplain to you further). there are also OTC meds for stomach cramps/pain during menstrual period but i suggest you must have a regular exercise to help lessen the pain and hopefully elliminate it.

You probably should see your doc. I have both, but I have endometriosis and it worsens as the condition worsens. I've been treating it for 12 years. There could be any number of reasons--simple reasons--for what you're dealing with but you need to see an ob/gyn.

I used to have bleeding - and severe cramps - every day of every period... for 9-11 days.
I remember "the pill" would help regulate the periods.
