They're both metric measurements, but I think you're asking how to describe 1 litre in centimetres...

The whole metric system is based on the measurements of the earth and water - so every measurement is related to almost every other one.

Litres and centimetres are related like this:

A litre of water = 1 decimetre cubed
1 decimetre = one tenth of a metre, that is, 10 centimetres
So, one litre = a space equivalent to 10 cubic centimetres.

A litre is defined as a cubic decimetre, so a cubic metre is a thousand litres and a cubic centimetre is a millilitre
