Well I dont buy CD's much anymore I do download the CD from Itunes I dont know if it is so much the Ipod over the CD or if it is the fact that buying a whole album on Itunes is cheaper than buying a CD at the store. I have a burner and do still use CD's for music. I just dont buy them I download them.

Absolutely not.
First, there are other MP3 players aside from the iPod.
Second, CDs sound at the very least as good as anything you put on your iPod. CDs usually sound better. So they are not obsolete.
Not to mention, you can rip a CD to MP3 format (or WMA or AAC or virtually any other audio format), but you are very limited in what you can do with iTunes Music Store downloads.

somewhat yes somewhat no, people still but Cd's for their cars or just at home listening and i personally buy a CD and rip it to my PC and put it on my ipod. Cd's are obsolete like audio tapes are but at some point in the next few years i wouldn't doubt it at all if Cd's are just gone
