I got gel nails a couple of weeks ago, my own nails are now growing and they are starting to look funny and not very good. I don't want to get refils because it will only take longer to get rid of them completly. Any ideas?

you need to buy some acitone and soak them off your nails will be weak and sore for a while though so once they are off you will need to put a nail hardener on them

When I used to work at a nail salon, this is what they did.. Soak it in acetone nail polish remover. Every 5 minutes, use a nail file or a buffer and **GENTLY** file away the bloated/sticky glue, wipe with paper towel, and continue soaking. Continue until you get all the gel off. The more acetone the nail polish has, the faster the gel will come off..

I got gels once. I didn't think that looked that nice. the nail tech said that you are supposed to let them grow out. I bit mine off. OUCH! it hurt, but I have thick nails, but they were to thin after wards. I wouldn't recommend biting them off, but it can be done. If you get nails put on again get acrylic they are much easier to get off and cheaper.

you can soak you nails in acetone......most nail polish removers use acetone and you can purchase it over the counter at any chemist/pharmacy......once you soak the nail the gel becomes soft and you can then remove them without damaging your real nails underneath....

most gels won't soak off in acetone. it needs to be filed off. be careful not to file too deeply and into your nailbed! ouchie!
