Good question. A-Rod needs it worse. It's all about the money. 25 million a year and no championship yet. Not good!! And of course there is the New York factor. The Yankees are the winningest sport franchise in history. He has to be on a winner. Peyton has a couple of years before he starts getting booed like A-Rod is getting booed now. In the end their careers will always be measured by whether they have that ring on their fingers.

it's a great question, because both get in it a lot but have yet to win. But, for now, it's A-Rod because he's being criticized the most. The irony is that the Colts need Peyton Manning to carry them to the Super Bowl, but the Yankees can win the World Series without A-Rod

A-Rod does.
Peyton Manning is not getting booed by his own fans.
Peyton Manning is not the subject of 6,000 word essays in Sports Illustrated analyzing his mental state and relationship with teammates.
As long as A-Rod doesn't ground into any double plays and helps the Yankees win the World Series, he'll be much better off.

Manning. A-Rod will get his eventually, especially if he stays with the Yankees. I mean, they just have to win sometime. But the NFL is more even, and Manning's Colts aren't as dominant as the Yankees. The Colts will eventually have problems like the Packers and Rams are having now after their big runs. Plus football players tend to have shorter careers. Rodriguez might play until he's 40. That's really unlikely for Peyton.

A-Rod needs it more b/c he's getting paid quarter of a billion dollars over 10yrs and so far zero Championships, and he's on a storied franchise. And wrong the Yankees are not a bad club unless you think the best record in the AL as of 09/21 is bad

Without a doubt Manning...
Without a Super Bowl Manning's legacy will be as a great QB and not an elite QB who could get his team a Super Bowl victory. This may be unfair, but it is the way great NFL QBs are looked at in history.
No one will ever put Trent Dilfer, Doug Williams, Mark Rypien, Jim McMahon, etc. on a list of Great NFL QBs...But great QBs such as Dan Marino will always have the stigma of not winning "the big" one.
As far as AROD goes...maybe to gain acceptance as a Yankee to Yankee fans he has to be a part of a World Series winning team...But great players in baseball history have not had the stigma of not winning a championship as do NFL QBs...AROD may be the first if he doesn't get a ring..but it will not be because he didn't put up the stat - which is the legacy of MLBers - it will be the $ issue.

A Rod.....
He has 252 million reasons why he needs it more than Manning. The Yankees haven't even been to the WS since he arrived. The expectations were high when he arrived. He has done nothing but fail to be a leader.

In terms of shelf life, I think Manning needs it more only because there's a greater risk of serious or long-term injury in his sport and his position.
A-Rod needs one for himself and his fans,
but he still has a lot of good years left in baseball.
That might not be so in football for Manning.
And did I mention A-Rod's eyes? Oh . . . so beautiful.
They defy words!
