I think that various forms of religions will be around as long as mankind is on earth. While there's no doubt that countless people have been killed in the name of religion, i.e. the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, and even what's going on now in the Middle East, I think that people simply NEED to believe in some sort of higher power, or some type of afterlife where things are better than here on earth. History shows that church attendance always rises when there is some sort of crisis in a given country. For example, more people here in the U.S. went to church in the weeks following 9/11 than they did for a long time previous to it.
That being said, I also think that, in view of all the scientific evidence being constantly discovered, especially regarding evolution and our place in the universe, fundamental Christianity in this country has to lighten-up a bit and admit at least some of it is true, or they are going to continue to see their flocks slowly leave the church.

Conflict. that's the future of religions. After that will come unity, but the kind of unity that brings disaster. Imagine one world, united, run by just us. And then Jim Jones gets at the helm. Well, that's where the future of religions will lead.
A good friend of mine used to say that religion is man's attempt to find God. Well, it's high time we stopped looking and just found him.

Hopefully religion has no future. Religion is one of the worst things in the world. It destroys personal accountability and causes pain and guilty in everyone it touches.

Religions are mere roads to a destination called God. Roads have no future either they are there or not there. if one road goes another will come.

Giving so much of impotance to religions and questioning them is certainly a waste of time and it also sparkles unwanted favoritism, hatred etc.

One would hope there is no future for these organizations when individuals realize they are responsible for their own spiritual well being.
