Okay you all know about my bad back and need to find quality work around this fact. I thought up an idea for a home based business that I want to run by you. I am a great cook and foodtv addict, I know my way around the kitchen. I would like to apply these talents to being a personal cook, live out and deliver the meals at dinnertime and also offer freeze and heat meals. I could also make food for entertaining as well. Would you pay a little extra cash for someone else to cook you great food, do all the shopping, dishes etc. while providing your family with the quality of a homecooked meal instead of the fast food run on the way home from work. Let me know what you think. I plan to start with a questionairre to find out the family's likes and dislikes, allergies and that sort of thing. This way I can go lay down in bed every 20 minutes to ease my back and I can do something I love and that I feel would help today's busy family. Feedback please.

It sounds good but you really have to watch the liability if someone got sick and tried to attribute it to you. Make sure you have them sign some sort of contract or disclaimer. Also, you have to be so very careful with food allergies-no cross contaminating, etc.

I think it's a great idea. Another thing you might consider is creating a food line. A couple of moms from our preschool started a company Lucky Ducky Chicken that got put into Safeway stores and elsewhere. Not sure what happened to them. Maybe they got bought out. But it went to show that a couple of domestic types could come up with a unique idea - healthy quick kids meals in the frozen section...and succeed.

I have a freind who did this and was very successful and what she did was have it set up where people would call her during the day and place and order of how many meals they needed and by the end of the workday they were ready and would pick up the meals on their way home. She didnt have to leave her home . whe had people with credit (within reason) and sometimes when cash was tight she could go to certain businesses and sell hot lunches.oh and by the way GREAT photo!!!!!

It's a great idea...on top of that...come up with a menu. A beef, a chicken, and a pork meal. That way it is "canned." You have recipes you have on hand for any occasion. If you need ideas...email me...I have a ton of cookbooks from the culinary arts institute I would be glad to share. : )

Hope this helps.

There are already some personal cooks out there. Some do very well from what I understand. If you have the talent go for it.
