1) Buy several roles of film.... find a friend that likes you or a girlfriend that loves you.. and have them take your headshots.. Out of a couple a roles.. with amateur photographers you should get atleast 2 shots. Have a bunch of those printed.
2) Build a resume.. of everything acting related you have ever done.
3) Search online for a book that lists all the model/acting agencies in the US. (There is one .. I forgot the name as it was years ago).
4) Cold call these agencies and setup an appointment.... not crappy ones.. but the good ones... start big... work your way down... you will get a bit of rejection and advice along the way.. deal with it and use it :-) Living in a NYC or LA will help alot.
5) Once you find an agency, start going out on comercial castings. These will get you warmed up for the whole casting enviroment. Whilst you are doing this, start taking acting classes either private or in a Univ.
6) Get SAG .. you want to get enough work to join SAG..you only need a 2 comercials or so... I forgot the requirements.. nevertheless once you become a SAG member, your doors open up... you can start going on movie and TV show castings, and you will have access to more resources....
And your off....

Just remember.. make sure its something you really want to do.... because like anything else it will require alot of work and sacrifices...
But the bright side is there is so much work these days... that if you try hard enough.. you can do it.. and although you might or might not become the next suparstar.. you will regardless, have a great experience....

Different for different people. Acting classes. Sign up with extras companies (Movie extras "Extras Casting") or similar companies. Go on auditions. Get an agent.

ACTING major in college, period the end. Know the guy who played Frazier's Dad? He started acting in his mid 30's.

go to La and get yourself some rolls in comercials. don't do porn too many of them get aids, and how many ex-porn stars do you see making movies.

become a porn star. Look at paris hilton, pamela anderson, the list is hugh and so are their asses
