Here is what I do... When my son or the children in my class pulled hair, I use a firm, but gentle voice and say "ouch, gentle hands" while gently putting their hand down from my head. If you raise your voice, it may scare him. At this point in his development, he probably likes the reaction he gets from pulling your hair...babies are sooo smart! You could also keep it pulled back, but that isn't always the most flattering hairstyle...lol Good Luck and just be persistent.

My son pulled hair from the time he was born. I think, at first, he held on to feel more secure--like it let him know I was there (he was a preemie, and spent his first month in the hospital, so I let him for a while). I just gently removed his little fingers. As he got older, and could understand a little, I removed his fingers and said, "Don't pull," in a calm, but firm voice EVERY time he did it. It took a while, but he got the picture. At ten months, I'd be a little more stern, but not too much--he's still only a baby after all. The good news is he should also get the hint and stop doing it a little quicker than a younger baby.

Don't make it a big deal, went through the same thing he'll stop in time just put your hair in a bun or pony tail for now. Its quite normal, no need to slap his hand or yell loudly as some suggested. You can tell him firmly to stop though and he'll get it eventually, use his hand to stroke the hair when he pulls.

Warn people,so they can put theres back. Very quickly without hair to pull he will forget the commotion it causes to pull it. Within weeks people wont need to adjust there do around your grabber.

Keep a comb in your hair in the spot where he pulls. The comb will not feel soft or familiar and should break him from the habit.

You know what to do to stop this and if you don't teach baby, then he will be running things around there in a couple more months.

Is he pulling it out? If so, shave his head and he'll probably forget that he used to pull his hair

Startle him, say loudly "NO." I wouldn't hit him, he will translate that as saying hitting is ok. Explain in simple terms, "Th,at hurts, I don't want you to do it." Do not laugh or get angry, th e more attention he gets the more likely he is to repeat the behavior.

just be tough and endure it. i think pretty much all kids at that age do it. firmly tell him no and gently remove his hand. he's really too young to understand, but keep telling him no and eventually he'll figure it out.

more than likely it's a stage
you can either slap his hand and say no each time he does it
or you can pull his hair just enough to stun him when he does it so he sees that it doesnt feel good
