Growth potential for years to come..
Healthcare and Government have big potential.
IF fossil fuel conservation really kicks off in earnest, more companies should start to realize and model themselves with telecommuting for more traditional jobs.

That is a fantastic question- and I am glad you are asking it b/c you want to go where the demand will be- that is rule#1 of finding a succesful career. So in your analysis you should evaluate the trends in the US demgraphic and environment. I few things should come right to mind such as, war on terrorism, aging of America, growth of ex-US jobs, and our declining enviroment. These have something essentially for all skill levels- if you know where to look. Think war on terrorism- if you have a middle eastern, asian language or cultural skill set- you can mke a boat load of money RIGHT NOW. Our government is looking for such people. Thinking about aging of America can you say healthcare! Yes when hose boomers retire that means everything from resort living, to pharmaceuticals, to nurses, to home health to funeral business...you name it! Ex-US: some of the fastest growing areas are not in good 'ol US- they are4 in places like China, India, and other Asian countries. Go to Monster.com to get these listings. When these economies are expanding and over an 8% clip annually they will lift every segment of the economy- you just need to have a dwesire to let go of your drinking buddies in your home town! Declioning Envirnoment- where do I start- look at cr manufacturers (like Toyota) who are on the cutting edge of environ safe cars, or technologies that are safe lik this. The point is...look around you and see the trend and ride the wave. And always rememebr the wave changes often, so don't forget to get off it quickly- I mean look at all these people at Ford and other Detroit companies- it is the same mentality that thinks that we still need to be driving a space shuttle on the US roads!

1. Lawyers. God bless this country of ours, we can't seem to have enough lawyers.
2. Military. It has high turnover, it is going to be a challenge just to keep current recruitment figures.
3. Telecom. More things keep getting connected to the Internet. Somebody has to maintain all the equipment needed to keep Internet traffic up.
4. IT. The trend is to computerize everything. IT is also high turnover, so you should be able to move in with the right mix of education and experience.

I think all these jobs that are being sub-contracted to India, and overseas. It will only take one major stoppage on their end to make U.S. companies realize what they have committed to.
Those jobs, although not high paying, are going to come back to the U.S. There's certainly a market for the companies wooing U.S. companies back...

Alternative Energy.
Eventually we will run out of fossil fuels. Anybody who can supply energy without them will be in demand.
Will it happen in your lifetime? Who knows?
