I got the original ipod headphones with my ipod a year and a half ago. After a while those stopped working, so I purchased headphones about, oh 7 months ago maybe. Well, about 3-4 months into that they started to fritz out (one of the became much more quiet and i couldn't hear right) so i took it to the ipod store and go it replaced. Now, about 3 months later, the same thing is happening and one of my headphones is messed up. It isn't both, just one. This is the third time this has happened, i don't know if i am doing something wrong. If i put my headphone in my ear though and tilt my head something goes back into place i guess becaues it becomes louder. My question is, am i dong something wrong w/ my headphones, are they just bad quality (i fork over 40 bucks for only 3 months of worth), or am i just really unlucky? What should i do? I want to invest in a better pair, but i don't want to pay for it if i am doing something wrong. Plz Don't tell me to get it replaced, it is to far away.

I have this pair of headphones and they are great, I workout in them, run in them, skate in them, and they are working perfecly fine! I'd try these, those Apple In Ear headphones are probably a little to fragile for the type of use your putting on those, specifically if your rolling them up like that guy said, that is going to loosen up the connection to the headphone. Apple is going to come out with a new pair with the new iPods so maybe you can wait till those get on to the Apple Store.

If not you could always get these:

Save yourself some trouble... and buy $10-$15 Sony earphones. I have them for my PC and my PDA and they work great. Plays in stereo and have never had to replace them in over 3 years. I use my headphones a great deal at home, due to the fact the my husband is asleep when I am on my computer. Mine are in the link below but you can find them at most any retailer like Wal-Mart etc.

Its usually to do with the way you store your headphones when not using them, rolling the cable up tightly usually wears away the joins in the cable and stops the earphones from working. I usually unplug the jack first then roll them up very gently and find this helps make them last longer.

be careful when using them and when storing them... try not to stress the wires that go into eat headphone and also into the jack... those are primary stress points for wires to break or become weak inside the casings.. when you tilt you head it is making partial connection and you get sound... get it?

It might be the headphones, or it could be the headphone jack
