I want to be trained as a vet tech, I have lots of experience with animals because I'm a groomer and I have been working at an animal hospital for 2 months. They don't pay enough, so I'm on the look out for a better opportunity. What should I ask for as a starting pay?

www.salary.com? I will try that, thanks a lot. Actually you can be trained to be a vet tech, you don't have to go to school and pay all that money. I work at a specialty hospital that's also a teaching hospital. I have many co-workers that started out where I am and are now working as technicians. It takes a while, but it's worth it because you get hands on experience.

Well first off you have to go to school to be a Vet Tech you can't be just trained and I was going to school for it and decided not too because they only make about $16,000-$30,000 a year which isn't alot!

Check with your local vets and see what they pay, it probably varies from state to state.
