For some its fun, for others it isn't. If you like Roleplaying games where all you do is level up your character to do a quest, then I would suggest you play runescape first then once you get the hang of that try WoW or Guild wars. If you prefer just playing through a game and beating it, then Runescape isn't for you.

If you decided to play Runescape, my name's Bardiglio on the game, if you have any problems, then add me as your friend and I'll help.

In my opinion, no. It isn't I played it for a few weeks but got tired of it because there is no real goal, everything is tedious and boring (Well, gee. I walked for 15 minutes to get a special herb, then walked back for 15 more minutes so I can give it to some guy to complete a quest and get almost nothing in return) Nobody in the whole game paid me one bit of attention when I needed help as a new player. The graphics are choppy, although I understand it's run from a java client. It's overly susceptible to hacking and scamming, it's almost like a mysterious back alley. The theme is way overused (Wow! A fantasy game set in medieval times? SO ORIGINAL! Let me guess. You fight orcs! And trolls, and maybe a dragon or two. Veeery interesting). I got tired of playing a game where I'm some level one squire beating up spiders with a stick, struggling to find something to do that doesn't involve walking 90% of the way, just to click on some monster and watch my little guy fight it with almost no control over the battle.
Overall, I wouldn't play it again if you payed me to.

It can be fun if you've never played an MMO for five minutes before in your life. Oh sure, you could get addicted, but then one day you'll realize that you've actually just wasted your life away playing a game that blows BIG TIME when compared with World of Warcraft; or so the article said.

The guy above speaks the truth.

yes it is fun but after a while you get tired of it, it takes a lot of time to level up and get things. you will also have to spend a lot of your time to get to be a high combat level.
