How little you know, but the president by constitution is NOT the leader of the country. He is the leader by popular demand, by that I mean he is powerful because the American public makes him so, but his is not a position of power. The Speaker of the House has more real authority than he does, in regards to the matters he is getting bashed for (govt spending, laws being passed, hurricane clean-up, ect ect).

ignorance and the fact that politics is now about right v left and not right v wrong like it should be. it is now a popular trend to blame the pres. for everything! Hollywood does it all the time, music industry does it, bill Clinton even said that the bush environment plan was causing the hurricanes! ignorance and nothing more.

People in general do not like to parallel their criticisms on issues but like to impress others with what they think they know and feel.
'I told the President when I met with him on Tuesday about that same issue you and I are discussing. And I just want to say, you are right, Lou. We agree on that issue 100%. And, if you vote for me, I'll continue fighting for what we both believe in.'
When you have congressman and senators and local mayors and governors all blaming the federal government, and hence, the president, the White House, President Bush, gets blamed for everything. After all, every one else if fighting for us!

Because when you are in charge and a leader, it does not matter whose fault it is, you take the blame, and it is your fault. Facts of life since, like, forever.
