I would love to see a list of punk bands of the 1920s. That would help me determine the veracity of your question.

No. Guys wearing eyeliner in punk bands came from wanting to appear as weird and rebellious as possible. Men wore eyeliner in the films of the 1920s to increase the contrast in their faces because the film and lighting of those days was not conducive to showing much detail, so what detail there was had to be made extraordinary to be seen.

Eyeliner really came in with New Romance, not Punk. I do not remember anyone wearing eyeliner in the UK during the punk years, it kinda caught on later. I remember watching Desparately Seeking Susan with it's depiction of a "punk" scene and thinking it looked like a hybrid of punk and new romance.
Of course I was very young at the time ;-)
Guys wear eyeliner in India on ceremonial ocassions and it looks very striking and not at all "pansy" ( to the guy who comes from where the buses don't run...)

there is not any longer some thing incorrect with it in case you decide on to positioned on the eyeliner. for sure some adult males are going to call it "gay" because it truly is makeup. My personal opinion: i do not truly like eyeliner on adult males if i'm attracted to them. yet your in a band, lol so bypass ahead and do it ;)

I'd love to see a REAL punk band that wore eyeliner. The pansies who wear eyeliner probably did it because, well...they're pansy attention whores.
