The carpet is darker colored. There are two spots. One is a "blob" and the other spot is more spread out due to my attempt to clean it while it was still hot.

warm it with an iron, but use a towl over the wax. Next use a credit card to scrape up the wax. Repeat if neccessary.

There are many answers here that are good, but not completely done. So lets pull them together

The most effective means i know of is the 'warm iron' please note hotter is not better (wax will melt some where from 170 to 212 Deg. F)

If you can use an old terry cloth towel you can toss over the wax then a layer of paper bag or even typing/printer paper. Now get to work - iron is on it's lowest setting - place over the spot - it will melt the wax and it will move into the towel (or layers of paper if you choose not to use the towel).

Two points to consider 1) Carpet can melt and is a big investment - go slow and cooler the better - the carpet is often manufactured with heat to 'set and twist' the fiber’s, don't undue it.
2) Keep the wax off the iron - extra layers of paper are only a good thing. NO news print or any paper which has printing or colors.
While attending college I worked at a home interiors shop - I learned lots of stuff this is one of them.

I worked for Miami Rug Co. for 7 1/2 years and we used to get calls all the time for all types of spots, spills and stains. Believe me it works!!! Try it.

#1 Get a good old fashioned paper bag (preferably a big one) like the ones they used to put your groceries in, you'll also need to use a plain houshold iron. (you know the kind you iron your clothes with?)

#2 Plug the iron in and set it to the cotton setting. Once it is hot place the iron on top of the paper bag being careful not to have the hotplate touch the carpet without the protection of the paper bag (if it does it could melt the fibers if they are nylon or synthetic fibers) iron over the spot moving the bag so as to position an unused clean area over the wax each time you iron. (You may have to do this several times until you have absorbed all the wax onto the paper bag.) **Do not keep the iron in the same spot consistently, it could get too hot & burn the fibers)

Hope this helped you. Good luck.

a sponge, hot water, lemon juice, oxy clean for carpets and a comb.

soon as the wax softens lube the area and the comb with oxy clean and gently start to lift the wax from the carpet... toss some lemon juice on it once in a while too.

if you must use your nails.. don't pull too hard you need not if the wax has been softened. apply lemon juice when nessesary that'll break up the wax too and not leave stains.

get up as much as you can then oxy it or use another carpet cleansing solution and let it sit a bit.

come back scrub it with a soft toothbrush until the carpet appears to be more fiber than wax.

dry and then brush the carpet in that effected spot.

see if that doesn't make an improvement.

I have a dark red carpet and spilled white wax on it. I got it out by ironing it. Heat your iron, then unplug it. Use paper towels not dish towels that way you can see the wax when it melts on the towel. Keep moving the towel around untill you have all the wax and the towel is clean. Be prepared to use several towels and to spend some time on this. I had wax the size of a half dollar and used about 12 towels spending a good 30-45 min. Hope it works for you as well as it worked for me.

You should take a big piece of old newspaper or blotting paper. Put it on the spot and iron it . You will find that the wax will melt and will get absorbed in the blotting paper. The second method is u can use organice thinner to wash the carpet. On soaking with thiner u will find that the wax is dissolving and gradually it will disappear.

To remove the wax from the carpet, place a cotton cloth over the wax on the carpet and iron (hot press). the wax will get transferred from the carpet to the cloth. Remove the cloth and let it dry for sometime and u can repeat till the wax is removed.

I have removed candle wax with a paper towel (doubled over) on different occasions. Press with a "hot" Iron and it "works". Using
an "ice cube" is usually done when you need to remove "Gum" that has gotten into the carpet! "This" I have done also!
On the "blob" trim most away first "before" using towel and Iron!

Place a blotting paper over the spot and heat the paper with a hot iron. The melted wax will be absorbed by the blotting paper. Repeat this till complete wax is removed.

Put the iron on....when it gets really hot....unplug it....and iron over a piece of plain paper on top of the candle wax - the wax will show up thru the paper - keep moving the paper around until all the wax is absorbed. (dont let the iron touch the carpet....!!)
