Hey bud,
First off trust yourself more. "They" say lots of things and seldom does the answer "they" give take into consideration the other person's situation or feelings.
I've had many tragic events in my life and I don't care what "they" say.... I was born gay and always will be.... Whether I like it or not. In fact, I have tried everything in my arsenal not to be. I did not want to, believe me. And that so-called counseling is more like brainwashing.
Don't give a second thought to what "they" say. A tragic event could no more have made you gay than it could have made them hetero. Do you think you could make them gay? Well maybe only in prison... ha ha
Trust yourself, believe in yourself and don't let others make you feel inferior. You aren't! Don't go overboard either and end up like one of those special fellas. Just be yourself... from the little I know about you...... I can still tell "yourself" is a pretty good guy.

This may sound comical but I assure you its not,I've seen women turn to homosexual lifestyles after being burnt out on men.Or perhaps have been raped, molested or abused by males. The opposite may be true for men who are molested. Sometimes when the human Psyche feels like a wall has been hit their is a natural curiosity to try something different and more stimulating.I do not believe people are born gay,I think its a preference they form in their personalities for many different reasons.Homosexuality is not a natural state, and represents an imbalance in the spirit, body and mind.

take your time and figure it out.
you are young.
don't let anyone bully you into thinking you are one way or the other. no one has to live your life but you.
either go for counseling or find a gay group in your community. they will have people that you can talk it over with and those people are not going to try to convince you that you are gay.

Your situation.. I wouldnt turn gay... the man was hitting you! you would be straight since you would hate men.. or some. I think it's just in you unless you gave up on women because on an incident between you and the girl.

Yes. It's a lot of deep psychology at the root of it. You've got to be willing to go through it all and figure it out. I don't know if you'd change to heterosexual or not in the end.

I've heard theories that if your mother had great amounts of stress while pregnant that it greatly increases the odds of having a homosexual child.

Is how you like to see yourself - sometimes people escape to that relationship because they feel more accepted - safe - understand. I don't think some even can change them to be who they want to be.

It could but that would have to be determined by you and hopefully a licensed therapist who can help you explore the root of your sexual orientation.....
