People sometimes unfortunetly have ulterior motives.
Try meeting people with similar interests as yourself, and have fun. Dont allow yourself to put up with negative crap from others that you dont deserve.

It is difficult as well for women to find a genuine female friend. It is believed that men and women can never be friend. It is also believed that men and women should be friends before be lovers.
If you are looking for a friend, first you should be a friend for others. If your target of friends is women, then you should start be a friend to women. This involve character and personal development from your side.

Men and women are not meant to be "friends".
If the woman you want to be "friends" with is married or has a boyfriend, guess what? The husband or boyfriend doesn't want you hanging around - three is a crowd!
If the woman you want to be "friends" with is looking for a boyfriend, then she doesn't want just a friend.
So, that leaves about 1% of women that might - for some wierd reason - want to have a guy just to be friends with.
Word of Advice: Find some guy friends to hang out with. Golf, watch football, have fun. Women are for romance and love - not buddy action.

Because most women think a man that says he wants to be a friends really wants more than friendship. In my experience, my only good guy friends are those that I lived with (they are like my brothers) and the ones I had before graduating from high school.
Now, if I just want to be friends with a guy, I usually get accused of "leading him on."

Look at the answers already about having a friend. Why do they mention looks and money? Women....thats why its hard to be friends with one. They cant get past the sex part..........the biggest lie in the world is that men are obsessed with sex. lol
p.s. ok...we may be....but we share it equally with the ladies...were just more honest about it.

because men have a sex drive and well watch movies men want women unless they are gay. otherwise they want something more than friendship.
