There are lots of search engines. What works best for you depends on what you are searching for. This site provides some alternative search engines along with a discussion of the various issues that search engines are trying to overcome:

You can find an almost endless listing of search engines by doing a Google or Yahoo Search on "web search".

Here's one of my favorites for you to try. Vivisimo's "Clusty" is a meta search engine with various tools that helps you quickly find relevant results from a variety of information sources. It groups relevent items together so you can more easily narrow your search. Other search engines simply list page after page of links. Vivisimo is certainly worth a look if you are doing serious research.

Good Luck

There are literally hundreds of search engines, but try this one: http://dogpile.com it will search the most popular and return results from each one. Of course there are others that do this such as http://mamma.com . These are called "meta-search engines". If you want to see a list of almost all the search engines, check out: http://searchenginewatch.com/showPage.html?page=links - this site breaks them down by category.

i don't use google. i use msn. don't have to go to their site to do it because it's the default for internet explorer. (unless u have done something to change your default) if i just enter any thing in the address bar that isn't an address msn does a search for whatever i typed.

What's wrong with searching through Yahoo? It's right up there on the toolbar.
