Friends. What exactly is the definition of having a friend? I mean, what is the difference between an acquaintence and an actual friend, if any?

What are the best things about having friends?

I'm just curious as to what you think. Still figuring out how ppl's minds work so-to-say.

To me, the best thing about having real friends is being able to talk to them about anything without fear of rejection or hard feelings. Friends connect on a level acquaintances can never hope to reach. Friends finish each other's sentences, and can sit in silence without feeling awkward. Friends can give advice based on what they know about the other person -- acquaintances can't do that. Friends love each other unconditionally, and they understand each other.

Friends are so important in this life. They (in part) make it worthwhile to get up in the morning. If you lose focus, friends can help you regain it.

A friend is someone you feel comfortable with, no matter the circumstance. I can't say enough good things about friends.

It's said that you're lucky if you have 3 true friends in your entire life, or even just one. I tend to think this is probably true. I think I've been given my allotted friend, and I'm so grateful!

There is no exact line between a friend and an acquaintance.

You talk with friends more about personal matters than acquaintances.
You joke with friends more than acquaintances.
And you enjoy being around friends more than acquaintances.

I don't believe in the whole idea of "friends". I think the only true friends you will ever have is your spouse and your family. I call the people I know from work or whatever have you associates. To me "friends" as people call them just complicate your life and I prefer to be drama free, life is already screwed up enough as is and really don't want others problem thrown on top of my own. Just my own personal belief, sad but true.

A friend is somebody whom you can call at 0300 to bring you a gallon of gas when you're twenty miles out of town. An acquaintance is someone whom you would not call for the same reason.

A friend is someone you spend lots of time with and you trust. You would probably trust them with important things and tell them things other people would not know. An aquaintence is someone that you see on the street and say hi, how you doing but wouldn't know their personal life too much. Make sense??

I found out that people will always let you down, but Jesus won't. If you invite Jesus to be your friend, then you will find a true friend and you will never be alone. Then God will send people into your life and they will become the frosting on the cake. The friends that I have made in the Church are the best kind to have.

That depends...some people's "friends" are anybody they have known for more than an hour. While some people's 'friends" are the few people who are closest to them and know almost everything about them. It depends on which type of person you are. Most people don't lean to these extremes obviously, they are just examples.

an acquaintance is somebody you watch yourself around, you cannot be completely honest with them. a friend is someone you can tell things and not worry about what they will do with the information. the best thing about having a friend is having someone you can
1-tell all your secrets to
2-having someone who hates all the same people as you.

After a night of drunken debauchery an acquaintance will listen to your story. A friend will be sitting in jail with you....

Acquaintances are fleeting. Friends are forever. Without friends, all you have are enemies.
