Convert Kilograms To Cups

2017-01-13 05:40:50 · answer #2 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

The key to this question is WHAT SUBSTANCE you are converting from kilograms to cups. Just because kilograms is a measure of mass and cups is a measure of volume does not make it impossible to convert. However, you will need to know the density of the SUBSTANCE you are converting in order to have a proper measurement in cups.

Some others have mentioned this and I wanted to make it clear the conversion can be done, but density is a key in obtaining the correct answer.

I use the website www.onlineconversion.com to assist me in these types of calculations.

Good luck.

I do not think it is as easy as a straight conversion as kilograms refers to weight and cup is a dry or wet measuement. you would have to know what the substance is and the weight of it before you could convert it.

kilograms measure mass and cups measure volume, so you can't.
If you know the density of something, such as water, you can find out how many cups would be in a kilogram of water.

As everyone has said, you cannot convert kilograms (mass) to cups (volume), unless it is for a specific substance and you know its density.

That being said, if you ever want to convert mass to mass or volume to volume or distance to distance, etc. You can go to http://google.com and type:

15.27 kilograms in pounds

Google will give you the answer. For example, check out this:

kilograms are MASS. cups are VOLUME. you have to know what substance you're measuring, so you can look up the DENSITY, and then you can do the conversion.

wow, i don't know.
kilograms is weight - kilograms to pounds is

kilograms / 2.2 = LBS

cups are liquids (including fine powders because they behave like liquids) and are the metric equivalent of LITRES.

i've never ever heard of kilos to cups.
