even having it once can cause an uti or bladder inf. after intercourse it is best to urinate cause you build up bacteria in your urethra from the rubbing. just as a woman is to wipe front to back after using which can also cause bacteria there when you are having sex you are pushing that up in you and you need to release or cleanse yourself. drink plenty of water after if you find you cant go afterwards and or keep water near i am sure with 4 times a day you can get pretty thirsty. lol but yes to answer your question

Actually, you can have sex once a week and still get a bladder infectionl. It's caused by a bacteria, so the amount of times has nothing to do with it...actually even without having sex you can get a bladder infection. If you don't refrain before it's healed I think you can get it back again.

Having sex ---period can cause bladder infections and indeed having it more frequently will increase the chances of a bladder infection. As one person mentioned be VERY careful that the penis or fingers to not touch the anus without washing those body parts before touching the vagina. This can really cause a problem with ecoli and other very serious infection, but basically the friction against the urethra can cause infection which can also spread to the kidneys and make you very sick, too.

Yes, although it can happen with any amount of sex (or entirely in its absense). Especially if you have sex in a bubblebath or using lotion. Even regular bacteria can travel in and cause infections, without any of those. More sex definitely means more opportunities.
Of course, if you enjoy 4x/day sex, I wouldn't stop it. Be aware of what you're doing and try to avoid things that might encourage the infections.
And if you have a bladder infection (especially in the beginning, before it really gets irritated), sex with your boyfriend could give him a bladder infection or other related infection as well.

Maybe especially if you two are not washing before/after sex and urinating after sex. And If you are not drinking the right amount of water and finishing all your medication and following any advice the doctor may have given you. I would not have sex until completing all the Medication first, You may want to Drink one cup of Cranberry Juice each day even after you take all medication and start to feel better. YOU REALLY DON'T NEED TO BE HAVING SEX WHILE STILL HAVING THE BLADDER INFECTION, Chill for a while w/the sex. Give your body a break. take care, hope you feel better.

my dad is a sex pig and he makes me mom have sex with him every night and it has been like this for 22 years, well his little problem caused my mom's bladder muscles to weaken and now she has to go to the doctor every week and get monitored all because she had sex all the time. it also caused a bunch of other problems. sex did this too her and now she has to pay for it.. so be careful!! ppl weren't meant for sex that much so just know if you keep this up you could get some real serious problems other than just a bladder infection!

Well, it's not the fact that you are having that much sex. It's most likely because he is slipping and accidentally hitting the back door and then continuing, which gives you some bad bacteria.
Our anatomy is not the greatest when it comes to that. Also, be sure that when you clean up, always urinate and wipe front to back.
These are two common reason for UTI's. If he has one as well then you should both be screened for STD's.

It is such a common problem it has a name: honeymoon cystitis.
Urinating after sex does help but in most cases if a doctor is consulted and obviously you are going to one, tell the doc what you told us and he can give you something to take. I am not sure what they do now but it used to be a low dose antibiotic.
