Okay, first off, I'm not a parent, but I don't think that kids should be dating at the age of 13...I certainly wasn't allowed to, nor would I have wanted to. My first date was not long after my 15th birthday and I definately wish that I had waited longer, at that age you are still a child and don't yet understand the meaning and possible consequences of your actions. I think that you should wait until you are a little older to date and just enjoy your childhood while it lasts, it isn't long before society tells you that you are an adult and treats you as such...

Sorry I'm not a parent, but.....

I'm 16, and I remember that time like it was just yesterday. Age is not the primary factor for deciding when he should be allowed to date. Showing any sign of responsibility and maturity is the better way to tell. I was very mature for 13, while my friends were waay too hyper.

Good luck, and sorry again!

It is ok for kids to socialize IF a parent is taking them and bringing them back! My son is 14 and he goes to movies with his boy cousins and they may meet a girl or 2, but trust me I am in the other theatre or an adult cousin of his goes to the same movie with them. Occasionally his school or our community center has a dance where it is heavily chaparoned. They love to dance and have fun, but I don't trust kids alone these days and it is my belief that age 10-15 is just too young to have a girl/boy friend. There is much too much teenage pregnancy and promescuity. Girls performing oral sex like it's the thing to do. My mother-in-law says "you have got to watch little girls because they will give IT to you".

I would say too young unless a adult is with them. You did the right thing. Thats your child.

Mothers now and days they don't care. but what i thing you should do is talk to him.because sometimes they will just go without telling you. just be careful with what he does.
