Cocoa butter usually lightens up your skin a bit. Like if you got a burn or something, use cocoa butter.

Cocoa butter will make your skin soft and smooth, but not lighter or darker. There isn't really any drugstore cream that can permanently lighten or darken your skin because it's colored by melanin, which is unaffected by things like...cocoa butter, or any lotions for that matter. The only way to change the color of your skin is to get it professionally done (with lasers, or peels for some areas).

If anything happens like what? Cocoa butter is just a moisturizer. Years ago, people would use for burns which we now know only aggravates the burn and makes it hurt more. Because it is greasy, I suppose if you wore it and went in the sun, you would tan faster.

First, what do you mean by "If anything happens"? I would imagine if you go out in the sun it will make your skin darker...it's a type of oil. It won't make your skin lighter. It will definitely make your skin softer. I use it all the time for that.

Well that depends on what you are using it for. Is it to fade a scar or to lighten your skin in general? If it's for a scar then yes, it will gradually fade, but to lighten skin it would work so slow you would never really notice it. To lighten skin, a bad scar, or even blemishes I would use fade cream which u can find at walmart or any other store like it.
