If I go to Start, then Turn Off, the computer turns off and can be turned on again with no problems. If I go to Start, then Turn Off, then Restart, I get the music that you hear when windows shuts down, the monitor goes blank, but the computer never actually turns off, or restarts. Any ideas? this just started happening. I have done a spyware scan and virus scan, and I don't have any.

try restoring your PC earlier, go to accessories and click in system tools then restore on an earlier time.

well, since your computer is restarting automatically there is no reason for it to turn it off then back on. However when you click Turn off then your computer is going to turn off and not back on so it jsut goes to standby or turns off. This is normal just press the powr button on ur monitor.

Good Luck!

I would dismiss it as normal quirks that Windows gone through. Microsoft did something to its Windows shutdown routine

But first check the power settings in BIOS.

Performing a System Restore would be the best thing.
