Their reasoning was if we could fake it for the TV show, it's just proof we could've faked it for the "real" moon landing. What can I say to them to point out how ridiculous that is?

This website completely blows away all the so-called "proofs" that Americans never landed on the moon ==>
http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/tv/foxapollo.html

Most of the morons who refuse to accept the truth about our lunar landings, or are too stupid to comprehend the science behind proving that they actually happened, blather about two things more than anything else --
(1)"...the American flag shown waving in a breeze on the lunar surface is fake because there's no wind on the moon..." The flag had plastic strips embedded in it that held the field up as though a breeze was blowing it;
(2)"...humans would have been killed by radiation in the van Allen Radiation belts that lie between Earth and the moon..." The Apollo astronauts did pass through these potentially lethal radiation fields, but were in them for far less time than needed to get a dangerous dose of radiation.

There is a reflective dish that was left on the moon which is used in research. By bouncing a laser beam off the dish & measuring the time it takes to return, highly accurate measurements of the Earth-moon distance are made. This was not possible before the astronauts visited.

Are we to believe that the conspiracy includes these scientists as well as all the astronauts, etc. etc. ? These conspiracy theorists are like the Flat Earth Society, an extreme case of what happens when we let an ideology or a belief system bend our perceptions away from what actually exists.

They'll try and drag out anything that they think will help their useless cause.

I bought the DVD set "Earth to the Moon". You only have to see the episode about the tragic fire on apollo 1 and feel the emotion about the deaths of three courageous astronauts "willing to go where no man has gone before" but got incinerated in the capsule without leaving the pad.

Senator Mondale was all for trying to close Apollo down at that stage. It took 2 years of trials and tribulations to get back on track for Kennedy's dream of a man on the moon by 1970, and all this magnificant effort is cast down in a second by conspiracy nuts who know nothing about the history of the space program.

It is enough to make a strong man weep.

PS

It is one thing to create a show for TV as a standalone. How would you create a Hollywood and insert it into an already active space program without the thousands and thousands of technicians, controllers, software experts and astronauts knowing.

Normally I wouldn't bother with these people, but it is getting out of hand. The internet is spreading this conspiracy nonsense like wild fire.

Seeing as how "From the Earth to the Moon" was created with cutting-edge special-effects technology that far exceeds what movie-makers even thought possible in 1969, it's kind of a moot point.

The best way to deal with people like that is laugh at them, tell them they are right, and walk away knowing you are waaay smarter than they are.

Really, why bother? Getting to the moon would be WAY easier than having that many people in on a hoax for that long without one single person who was actually involved coming forward.

Answer 1:

You have WAY too much time on your hands.
Now get to work!

Answer 2:

The voice you hear, is your over-active imagination speaking to you; and is not the government sending a signal through one of the fillings in your teeth.
Now get to work!

You know, I think it's time we all stop just trying to convince people with 60 IQ's that space travel is real. Let's just let them walk off the edge of the world.

You know what, this person is absolutely right. We never went to the moon and we've never been to outer space.
