yes. for the record, i'm not a feminist or anything - i mean, i do care that women have the same chances as men, but i dont run around burning my bra or anything like that. lyrics reflect how people feel and bring out emotion - and typically now what im seeing is that the trend is going toward using women as sex symbols and degrading them that way - like the only thing we are good for is sex or looking hot. and it's not just men singing about women, i see it in women's songs and music videos too, degrading themselves. the attitude is that women are only good for sex, making babies, and being inferior to men and catering to men's needs with no regards for our own needs.

Pop music can be extremely misogynistic. And of course most of the people getting air-time are men. But women get some fair shakes in lyrics. Listen to The Barenaked Ladies or Beck or John Mayer or listen to women. Do Do listen to Liz Phair--"Extraordinary." Then they are your standards: Sara McLaughlin. Tore Amos. Listen to the Donnas. Listen to Chrissy Hynd and Pat Benitar.
Listen to the Talking Heads.
Listen to Chuck D. Avoid the rappers who hate on their women, because yes, they are speaking to you ladies. Not some other woman behind your shoulder. They are talking to you! Don't buy it mentally or literally.
To Might Po: Please don't diss the word "Feminist" yet. Femisism is defined as "The idea that women are equal to men." Nowadays there are no bra-burning radicals around. The radicals broke the ground and now we need to preserve their accomplishments. One way to do that is to be proud to associate yourself with the word feminist--men as well as women can/should do so.

Music can also create peoples attitude towards someone or something. Kids see the vidoes and hear the music and want to be like the artist cuz he's all smilin and ****. So they act like him, talk like him, dress like him, etc.
Just like fashion....

I wouldn’t inevitably say attitude extra like photograph. maximum track approximately women are the two approximately hoes, sluts, physique aspects, or how sturdy they are in mattress. different track makes women to be the reason of melancholy, the shortcoming of something or maybe the earnings of something large. yet each and each artist has his or her own photograph of ladies.
