Submerge means to go under water. For instance - "When you're making spaghetti, make sure there is enough water in the pot so that all the noodles are completely submerged."

I think your only hope of getting your supervisors position back, you will have to lick your way back into her good graces. So keep up the good work, and besides the mail room has it's advantages, it is out of the way and private, so tell you boss that she has a special delivery that she must sign for, when she come in, you can take her by surprise, and if you do well, you may be promoted to her personal assistant.
