I think everyone pretty much agrees that the U.S.A. is full of lonely people, whether they admit/realize it or not.

What will stop it? Let's be realistic as well. We're not going to have any magical fairies make anybody fall in love with each other. lol.

No magic faeries like in a Mid Summer Night's Dream sprinkling fairy dust on us please...a woman fell in love with a donkey! LOL
No it would be nice if there was such a thing but I think that some of the others do have a point. We have made things so convenient that we do not have to even talk to a live person face to face. No wonder we are feeling so isolated!
Maybe we all need to take some time away from the computer and reconnect with our families and friends...pry the TV remote control out of our hot little hands and replace it with the hand of someone you care about. Go out and enjoy the world for a change...

The biggest cause of lonliness is not the lack of love for others or from others, but instead the lack of love for ourselves. Until we can love ourselves we cannot allow ourselves to love or be loved. Lonliness is the results of our own personal inadequacies and self-condemnation. You are correct it is a major problem in the U.S.A. and obiviously is not resolved by material goods.

People would judge me as a person who has it all. I appear to be a very confident person, well educated, well traveled, in my younger days very handsome, smart dresser, professional, outgoing, intelligent but inside I have always been like a frighten child. I have never felt deserving of all that I have accumulated and been blessed with. Regardless of the number of people that surrounded me and or supported me I have suffered from lonliness. I have had a fear one day they would discover I am not really as smart and suave as they think I am and walk away.

I know that no one or no thing can fix the problem for me. I must fix myself. Councelings, faith, anti-depressants may have helped but they have not eliminated the problem.

The one thing that has helped me the most is Rick Warren and Purpose Driven Life..

I feel that the only thing that will stop all the loneliness is if people stop and realize that every one is unique and and learn that there are languages to love as well as different languages that men and women speak. the most common problem with relationships and love is that people forget how to comunicate.

Win back the 'family system', discourage single parents and living together without a marriage and p l e a s e outlaw gay marriages. This state of affairs-the loneliness- is more dangerous than the terrorism, imagined or real.

I would think about three to five sessions with a qualified psychiatrist,...... folks are generally so screwed up about love ,friendships,Human relationships in general , and whats right the thing to do (for your gender) etc...

In short teaching people how to live , love, and just be happy

Notice I have not mentioned ...sex. why would I ?( ok ...well I have now )

People need to do more random acts of kindness for strangers. Improv Everywhere has the right idea.
