best- Rivera. This guy is LIGHTS OUT each and every game. Will go down in history as the best closer ever. The sick thing is that the batters know he only has ONE pitch, but they still cant hit it.
favorite- K-Rod. He's got wicked stuff to strike out people and hes amazing to watch in action. Wont forget how he saved the 02' playoffs/world series for the angels.

Although he isn't pitching at this moment -- Mariano Rivera is the best relief pitcher in the game. Even though he's older than some of the young studs to which others have referred, Rivera gets the job done. Just last season he had one of his best performances since he's been a closer. When Rivera comes into the game, the game is over.
You Boston fans can spout off about getting the best of Rivera, but that has only been recently, and Rivera hasn't blown saves against the Red Sox all the time.
When you hear batters lamenting the fact that Rivera is coming into the game, you know he is the best relief pitcher in baseball, perhaps of all-time. Especially if you consider his post-season perfomances, Rivera has redefined the position of closer, by elevating the expectation of a pitcher who refuses to relent.
