That's a terrible thing to say to anyone. I think that America's standards of beauty are extremely stringent, and I think instead of concentrating on being "skinny" you should concentrate on being healthy. Ask your doctor, he/she should be able to tell you if you're at a healthy weight for your height. Also, excercise, not for the weight-loss, but because it makes you feel good. Excercise releases endorphins, endorphins make us happy. Besides, if you keep it up, you'll learn a great habit that will make you feel good for the rest of your life.
As for wasting your beauty, that's just silly. Beauty is never wasted, whether it's physical or internal. If you're a beautiful person, you will shine, and by shining somebody somewhere is feeling your warmth.

I think that you need to just chill, don’t feel that bad about it. What people say is not always right and you shouldn't take to heart.
PS if you want to go into the modeling world you will hear about a lot of negative things about your body. It may not be the right business for you!!! Good Luck

I'm a guy, and I have to say that the only "waste" you have going on is wasting your time listening to an ignorant person. Be happy with who you and you'll find that most others will be happy with you. For those who have something negative to say to you, consider what shortcomings they have that make them say those things.

Oh, and stop calling yourself fat. Give yourself a break...

Weight has very little factor in beauty in my opinion. I can't tell you how many beautiful overweight women exist in this world.

Sounds to me like she's jealous of you and really really insecure about herself. What matters most is what you think of yourself.
