Be careful because not all abilities are innate. For example, I would not say Tiger Woods has an innate ability to play golf. Rather I would say Tiger Woods has an innate athletic ability that he has developed through hard work in order to be able to play golf so well. Some people are born with innate curiosity that is evident from an early age. Most animals have innate instincts that help them survive.

I have an innate musical ability.
I really don't but it makes a good sentence.
Or if you think your teacher is going to be picky about whether an ability is innate or not, you could ask a question. Is her musical ability innate or has she just studied with good teachers?

Don't be sexist! ;) I was born by caesarean. E.J - I was under the impression, you were hatched from an owls egg. What a hoot! Quizard - You must have looked like the 'Mekon'! I was under 3lb,born with pleurisy, first 4 months in an incubator. If I lived beyond 5 years,I'd be a weak & fragile adult. Made Michael Fish look accurate! wooHOO!
