1. Take them to a local used bookstore. They will pick through them and decide which ones they think they can sell.
2. Online through sites like Ebay or Amazon.
3. Have a garage sale/yard sale/tagsale or whatever they call it in your part of the world.
4. Any that you are unsuccessful at selling, donate to charity...family shelters, child crisis centers, Goodwill, your local library, etc. and someone will be sure to make use of them.

We have a place here in Texas called Half Price Books, but they'll probably give you peanuts for them (I sold them about three boxes full of hardcover books and got about $30). Ebay is too much of a hassle: you'll get about 50 cents per book and it's not worth doing all the organizing and shipping. Donating them is the best option, unless you know you have some rare editions.

You could sell them on ebay as a batch. Take a look at bookcrossings.com which encourages sharing books by leaving them in public places for others to find. You can also donate them to the public library and take a tax donation.

A few suggestions - if they aren't torn and stained, try the local hospital or children's clinics, also the library. There are used book stores that buy and trade too. You can donate them to a school library - hand them out for Halloween, take them to the laundry mat and leave them too - they'll be picked up. There is always e-bay and amazon for selling them too.-

One way to sell them is to list them on half.com. Check them out at the link below. You can list your books free and your ad stays on their website until the book sells or you tell them to cancel your ad for it. Half.com is a division of eBay. It's not an auction like eBay -they sell it for whatever price you say. They take a percentage of your selling price, when and if somebody buys it. You might not want to do this for all your books, but for some of them, maybe. You might also consider a yard sale.
