how long after sex does it take to get pregnant...and how long until you can take a pregnancy test. dont tell me to take it so many days before my missed period cuz they're irregular...how long AFTER SEX...please i'm really stressing about this!

i just came OFF the pill thats why my cycle is irregular...and it wasn't necessarily unprotected sex it was more like just exposure to semen. just answer the pregnancy question and not lecture on stds please

It can take up to 5 days for conception to take place.
There is one home pregnancy test, either EPT or First Response, that claims accurate results in 3 days. Most of the home tests can be purchased in two's. If it was me I'd get the double test kit and take the first test after waiting 3 days, then test again after 7 days.
In the meantime, while you are waiting for the 3 days to pass, get some Queen Anne's Lace supplements at a Natural/Whole Foods store and take 6 to 8 daily. Queen Anne's Lace causes the uterus to be slippery and not viable for the egg to attach.
If you find you are pregnant one little known emergency contraception is getting an IUD (Intra Uterine Device) which will cause a spontaneous abortion.

You cannot tell right after sex if you are pregnant or not. You normally will have a missed period that will signal that you may be pregnant. If you are having unprotected sex that is not a very good idea. There is aids out there and a host of other STD's. Even If your periods are irregular you should still be able to tell if you miss a period. If you are stressing so bad about find the nearest Planned Parenthood Office in your area and go. They will charge you on a sliding scale if you are working and if you aren't it is free and they will put you on Birth Control sounds like you need it. By the way Birth Control Pills will help to make your cycle more regular.

there is no timed period after sex, because people can have sex every day, several times a day and still not be able to detect the pregancy hormone until they miss a period. Some people not even then. Your best bet is to go ahead and take a test then if that is negative take another one in 28 days which is what will be an average womans cycle. Seriously if you are worried about pregnancy and you need to get your cycles regular get on the pill it will solve both problems for the most part.
and technically sperm stays alive inside you up to 48 hours so you can concieve anywhere in that time but the hormone still won't show up for a while. WIth me it takes 2 monthes to show on a store bought test while some people can show in a couple days.

You can get pregnant immediately, or 5 days after you have sex. Sperm live in the body for up to five days, so even if you werent ovulating at the time you had sex, if you ovulate within 5 days after, you can become pregnant. A pregnancy test cant detect the hormones in your body right away. You typically have to wait until your missed period. So, if you dont have a period within 3-4 weeks, go to a doc or clinic and get a test done. In the meantime, be very careful and dont drink or smoke or be around harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia.
Also, if you arent willing to raise a child with the person you are sexually active with, then you arent ready to be having sex.

After ovulation it takes about 4-7 days for conception to occur, and another 7 days or so for implantation to take place so that you are able to get a positive reading on a pregnancy test.

do you not have a doctor??? if not you should especially if you are having unprotected sex. i would start with an hiv test and go from there

well if everything went right, you would get pregnant immediatly..but you won't know for probably about 2 weeks i think...maybe sooner....but don't rush it, if it happens great but you can't force it...your body will do it when its ready...just be patient
