I've got a NetGear MR814 router and I'm looking to query it to get my ip address from my provider without going into the router software. Does this make sense? I need it to remotely connect to my system. If I can get the IP, I can ftp it to myself elsewhere. Any help would be appreciated!

the ip will do you no good unless it's static
you can go to dyndns.com and install the updater, tis will install a small client software ot update the dyndns.com server a to your current ip of the modem.
but at the cmd prompt, you can type in
ipconfig/ all
and there you see currecnt ip of the modem, but without the right software or router you have a dynamic ip that you will not stay current for ftp sessions

Look on the top of the router/bridge that you have and it should have the IP address on the top of it along with all the other info that you could possibley need.
