I think that it is a wonderful idea to locate someone who would like to become a marriage partner and start a life together. It is especially good if the female half of the couple comes from a country and society where females do not have the opportunities for good education and well paying jobs that might be available in her new home.

The "submissive" phrase you elected to use seems a bit strange to me because most women know what they will and will not tolerate regardless of their nationality. Access to worldwide news and television will certainly teach them about their rights and protection under the law in a short time if they don't.

My wife is 30 years junior to me and recently came here from the Philippines. We now have a lovely young daughter. My wife is enrolled in a US College Program seeking a four year degree. I cannot imagine anyone calling her 'submissive.' However, she does blend in extremely well with my life style. I find that the attention she showers upon me is most enjoyable. From her I receive thanks each and every day for giving her the opportunity to better her life, finish her education, and send occasional funds home to her family in the Philippines.

There are a lot of scams out there, and a lot of women seeking the easy life, or a quick get rich scheme. By all means avoid those situations, and know what you are getting into. Some organizations seek to charge you for introductions and arrangements of prospective wives. You do not need to pay anyone anything to act as an agent if you go to the rural areas. Stay away from the big metro areas. Stay in the rural area for a while and get known by middle class working people. Introductions will come naturally to you in a 'very' short time. In the S & M Mall in downtown Manila I must have received 50 offers of possible brides seeking to come to the USA should my present fiance prove unsatisfactory in some way.

Footnote: The Immigration process these days for a Fiance Visa is just mind boggling. The end result is well worth the effort though. I can guarantee you that. The process took me roughly 12 months start-to-finish. Let me add that Uncle Sam (US Govt.) now knows every thing in this world about me in triplicate (notarized).

Oh yes... If your fiance is separated (not legally divorced), or if that is your situation, do not even try to fool the immigration process. They will put you back onto the street in very short order, and your possible fantastic opportunity will be lost for good.

Justme, if you were to be the bride for me, I wouldn't have thought for one minute on placing an order. Have a sense of humour.
No, not for me. I will definitely not consider this option.
I would not see my bride as if she were a merchandise that anyone can place an order.

I think anyone who wants a mail order bride, wants a slave. They dont want an american woman strong and opiniated who demads to be treated equally.

what people dont realize once that brides over here and she gets together witih her own type, she becomes more headstrong or becomes americanized

i think it'd be awfully hard to be one. real hard cuz you'd have no clue what the person that going to control you likes, wants or expects from you.
