At some point (in the early to mid 70s) I seem to recall seeing a puppet with wild hair banging its head on a piano and crying. Nobody I mention this to seems to remember it... was this just some weird dream I had as a kid or did it really happen?

despite if i'm purely 17, I did watch the Sesame highway of the 70s and 80s (we watched reruns, plus we rented/owned endless tapes), and that i could desire to declare i'm appalled by the present teach. I nevertheless love old Sesame highway (I very own quantity a million of the "Sesame highway old college" DVDs, and quantity 2 is on my Christmas record), and it makes me unhappy to work out the hot teach. Please, somebody clarify to me why Elmo is now the only character and the teach makes a speciality of no longer something yet healthful foodstuff and workout. (i be attentive to folk are going to declare little ones prefer training in that those days, yet it isn't any excuse to thoroughly eliminate the skits approximately counting, the alphabet, existence training, and so on.) extremely, the 70s teach had great humour, the 80s teach had the numerous superb music i've got ever heard, the early 90s reran the wonderful skits of the two, and now... uhh, what sturdy is there to declare? i'm very in contact for this technology of anklebiters; little ones' television is extra screwed up than ever earlier in historic past. whilst Jim Henson died, Sesame highway died impressive alongside with him... long stay Oscar, who's (replaced into? he isn't on the teach anymore...) no longer "depressed"!

You are correct. He was on in the mid-70's to early-80's. I don't remember his name, though. He kept a bust of Bethoven (Mozart?) on his piano.

Why he was removed from the show is open to speculation. I assume his self-inflicted injury was frowned upon by the Dr. Spocks in America (another 70's/80's reference- ha!, so it was removed.
