I saw a game this year, where with time winding down, Kobe drove the lane. He drew the defense and passed to an open Luke Walton. Kobe was so proud of himself, he gave up on the play thinking Walton would hit the game winner. Well, the defense quickly collapsed on Walton who then brillaintly flipped the ball back to a now wide open Kobe. The ball hit Kobe in the head and went of bounds, and the Lakers lost. Kobe blamed Walton for not stepping up and hitting the shot. Fact is, if Kobe doesn't pat himself on the back for the great pass, he could have won the game on the fiery dunk. As a Knicks fan, I have watched Jordan for much of his career (broke my heart a thousand times). Micheal would never do anything like that. That's why he is a legend, and Kobe's just a great player.

Um first off Kobe is not a ball hog he is just a talented player who knows how to score. Second there is no one on his team for him to give the ball to. Lamar Odom plays sometime-ish and everyone else isn't as talented to carry a team. Why does everyone forget that Scotty Pippen played with Jordan he alone was a 20+ scorer, 10+ rebound plus player. He was consistant as a player unlike anyone that is on the Lakers. 1 man can not make a team win trust me. Jordan was a ball hog him damn self he took plenty of shots. The main reason why Jordan is considered to be so great is because alot of the things that he did was only done by him or a limited amount of people in the NBA. There are soooo many talented people in the NBA now its rediculous. Every team as a super talented player. The league is soooo much more competitive today. Kobe won't be the next Jordan.............come to think of it NO ONE WILL BE THE NEXT JORDAN. Kobe will be the first and only Kobe Bryant. He is talented as hell and he will create his own legacy. You can only look at Jordan as Jordan and you look at Kobe as Kobe. I've seen Kobe do some stuff that i have never seen Jordan do. People need to stop comparing Kobe to Jordan cause they are 2 completely different people with their own careers and titles. I'm sure Kobe doesn't wanna be the next Jordan.

No he will not! Kobe's teamwork abilities will never reach that of Jordan's. MJ made every player around him better unlike Kobe. His skills did not change the game and step the game of basketball to another level like MJ. SO KOBE WILL NEVER REACH JORDAN!

As far as talent, skill, and competitiveness are concerned, Kobe is roughly there. Kobe isn't as smart as Jordan was when it came to utilizing his team to win, that's what's keeping him from that level. Kobe also isn't as savvy pr-wise as Jordan too. There are numerous accounts of Jordan behaving quite selfishly towards his teammates and acting like a dick in an attempt to "toughen them up", but Jordan got a pass because of how he presented himself to others and to fans. MJ also took more than a fair share of shots too. Kobe grew into the level he's currently at, in part because he came out of high school.

Are you kidding me? Kobe is/never will be at Jordan's level. Michael Jordan is the greatest player to ever make the team. Kobe is way too selfish to make plays for the other people on his team (That is why he doesnt have the rings that Jordan has)

Kobe have the skills but M.J had the mind. Both two of them are massive players and Kobe may even be proved to be better, but this will not happen till he decides to pass the ball to his other teammates too and not only from one hand to another.

It's possible, but Kobe still doesn't trust his teammates. MJ didn't either early in his career, but he learned to. Remember it was Paxson and Kerr hitting a couple of big shots in the NBA finals off of MJ assists. Kobe would've forced it up.

So, skills? yes

Teamwork and playmaking? we'll see

No it takes alot to win back people's respect of him. If he concentrated more on teamwork instead of hogging the spotlight and trying to do things his way Shaq might still be on the team.

yes it is possible that kobe will reach jordans level but first he must trust his team mates but even mj didn't trust his team mates in the early years of his career! but kobe is a very talented player and maybe if he'll learn to trust his team mates, he will exceed mj's level!

kobe will go down as one of the greatest players of all-time ... jordan is the greatest player of all-time ... and jordan is the only one in his level ... even the great magic johnson had this to say, "there's michael jordan, and there's the rest of us" ...
