Sounds like you need an answer for a question in a class.
Supercomputers - used for massive number-crunching applications like real-time graphical mapping. You can find them in the University of Illinois Super Computing Center on the campus in Urbana.
Main Frames - used by large businesses, like corporations: Teledyne, General Motors, etc.. Very capable. They use peripheral computers (CPUs) to manage the I/O - that is why they are so fast.
Mini Computers - used by small to medium-sized businesses for data entry and accounting (mostly) plus point of sale. Your local KMart or WalMart undoubtedly has one. Safeway uses them in their stores too.
Micro Computers - You know, the "home PC" - Fourth Generation - uses Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) chips. Found in most homes these days.

Hope this helps, and that you get a good score.

There are two major types of computer... PCs and Macs. PCs can be found anywhere, Macs can be ordered from Apple.com or Circuit City. Macs are better, overall, and easier to use, plus, they are IMMUNE to viruses and spyware. Plus, a lot of programs for the mac that you pay for on windows are free.
