I don't understand why people would willingly hurt others to the point of causing permanent damage just to obtain something so trivial as a Tickle Me Elmo toy.

Why? What is wrong with our culture that makes such a mindless thing more important than not harming other people? By our culture, I am refering to America of coarse (I don't know if this "craze" has happened elsewhere). Why would anyone beat the living daylights out of each other just to get a TOY?

Is it something psychological? Or people just stupid?

If you don't know what I mean, check this page and search for "Wal Mart": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tickle_me_Elmo

This is only one of many stories. Now with the new version of the doll out, many simular stories have appeared throughout the news and internet.

I just can't understand why anyone would be willing to go so far just for a vibrating kid's toy. It just doesn't make any sense.

not likely in any respect. maximum mishaps and injuries are brought about through RIDERS. usually, they disobey the safe practices regulations (for even if reason). This contains loosening restraints, no longer sitting properly, no longer protecting palms and feet contained in the prepare etc. once you imagine about what number circumstances a roller coaster runs each day and the means load and then the variety of incidents, you'll locate that the data for injuries or demise are very low...and intensely a lot on your desire. convinced, injuries ensue even as there's a vacation malfunction. even if, by using very strict regulations through OSHA and through park administration, rides should be inspected and examined each day. also, even as a vacation is closed for any reason, safe practices guidelines require that a vacation be examined and retested earlier being reopened. with reference to the incident that surpassed off at SFKK very last year, that change right into a vacation malfunction. the unlucky youthful lady who change into injured and left completely disfigured and disabled made no rider blunders. She change into the sufferer of probability (a snapped cable). From what I understand, the vacation she change into injured on change into completely closed and has in view that been dismantled. i trust there continues to be a lawsuit adversarial to Six Flags about that coincidence and that i do not understand if any decision related to duty has been reached. For the most section, leisure park rides are probability-free. there is continually a probability...even if the possibility is not any more beneficial than what you concern your self to in a automobile, boat, plane or merely strolling down the line. EMT I used to paintings for 6 Flags EMS.

I agree with you, it is crazy. Nutso parents willing to do just about anything to get their kids the popular toys. The same thing happened with the original Tickle me Elmo and with the Cabbage Patch Kids in the 1980s.

Similar behavior went on over Beanie Babies. What are they worth now? Less than what was paid! I used to work at a store that sold them, people would turn into nasty, grabby monsters. It's all about having what someone else wants.
