I was just watching the local news (Fox 5 in NYC) and they were covering Chavez' appearance in a Harlem Church and how he promised 100,000,000 Gallons of discounted heating oil to them po' black folks in Harlem. Some councilman called him a "Humanitarian" and said he was "genuine" and had a "good heart". He got alot of applause from them po' blacks...especially when he bashed Bush again and promised that cheap oil. At least Charlie Rangel (whom I don't particularly care for most of the time) had the chutzpah to express his outrage at this nut and his rantings and the way he's disrespecting our country.

Hey Chavez, you should keep your stinking heating oil and try improving the lives of your own starving and uneducated po' folks. Our po' folks have the Democrats to dupe them. They don't need you!!!

PS Who the hell cares what Noam Chomsky thinks?

I don't think the people at the UN were Bush's "friends". He doesn't seem to have too many friends in the UN these days. If you've been following the news, you'd know that the UN is doing virtually nothing about that other nut Ahmadinejad's non-compliance with uranium enrichment. The people applauding Chavez were no friends of Bush. Once again, Bush is left to go it alone.

Isn't it un-Christian of Chavez to visit a Harlem church and act like a humanitarian when his own people are jailed for speaking against him and they are forcd to live in despicable third world conditions?

I'm outraged at his transparent grab for media attention. Chavez is using poor blacks as "props" in his media campaign. Are people so willing to trade their dignity for cheap heating oil? Sadly, I believe so, but it's not un-Christian or racist or bigoted to speak against Chavez actions and his abhorrent behavior.

hi, arschloch. here's a tip. spend some time researching a bit of "conspiracy theory". as a general rule, both the theorists and those interested in their theories have i.q.'s far above those of your current president, and above probably all of the nascar lovin' christo-fascist crowd. and, more importantly, are far more compassionate beings. whether chavez is grandstanding or , actually a tyrant himself, i don't know with certitude. what i do know is that when the U S tried to oust him by fomenting a coup in the not so distant past, the coup only lasted a few days and then he was reinstated by popular demand. and the usual plutocrat-corporatist psychopaths who tried to remove him had a bad day. the sad truth is that most of us americans are being duped daily into thinking that voting democrats in will help with our current "crisis" regarding the mismanaged wars, corruption, etc. this is an illusion. both parties are owned by the same cabal of fascists currently making a determined run at turning the planet into a police state with them at the helm. perhaps noam chomsky, whose i.q. is at least twice yours, has some comments on this topic. however, there are some who believe that he too is merely part of the cabal, masquerading as a sypathetic voice. unfortunately for us mere peasants the cabal is run by very intelligent people; unfortunately for us, and for them, ultimately, as well, they are truly psychopaths.

It's certainly not weed. I never heard of that making anyone crazy. Do you really think that poor people fell for Chavez stuff? Why aren't you bashing the Bush freinds at the UN who gave Chavez such a great applause and laughed at his disrespect of Bush. I believe that even tho I'm totally against Bush, he is the president of the US and deserves respect due his office. You are a racist, ignorant republican and not a Christian.

Chavez offered the U.S. oil aid to help with Katrina production loss but Bush turned him down so we got higher prices.

Chavez is funny!
The bright side is that what he said at the UN is making him look like an idiot. The other leaders that where backing him are avoiding him now.
